If you're new to 3D and have watched the Blender Basics tutorials,  you might be thinking of what the next step is for you and Blender. Mesh modeling, sometimes called Polygonal Modeling, is the method we use to construct 3D objects of all shapes and sizes. It is the starting point for most things you'll do in 3D.

Whether your goal is to create compelling characters for film, creating architectural visualizations or even game environment assets, you will need to starts with modeling. Blender has a very powerful and fast modeling toolset that can be used for creating just about any 3D object you may need. This Blender course will teach you the fundamental skills and tools that are essential to becoming a modeler.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS COURSE

Chapter 1: Creating Mesh Objects
Learning how to model means you must first understand how to create and modify mesh objects.
*
Creating Blender Mesh Objects

Chapter 2: Context Modes
Blender uses different modes to modify objects. The mode you use depends on what you need to do. For mesh objects we primarily use Object mode and Edit mode.
* Object Mode & Edit Mode

Chapter 3: Manipulating Meshes
Once you've learned the basics of working with mesh objects it's time to begin modifying the shapes and structures of the actual mesh.
* Mesh Anatomy
* Mesh Selection Modes

Chapter 4: Fundamental Modeling Tools
While Blender's modeling tool set is extensive, there are certain tools that prove to be essential. Learn about them in this chapter.
* The Subdivide Tool
* The Extrude Tool
* Loop Cut & Slide
* The Bevel Tool
* The Inset Tool
* The Knife Tool
* Delete & Dissolve

Chapter 5: Mesh Selection Tools
When it comes to mesh modeling, selection is a very important. Learn about Blender's different selection options in this chapter.
* Select or Deselect All
* Select More or Less
* Box and Circle Select
* Edge Loops
* Edge Rings

Chapter 6: Mesh Shading and Visibility
Learn the different modes for visualizing your model in 3d viewport.
* Solid & Wireframe Shading
* Limiting Selection to Visible
* Mesh Hiding

Chapter 7: Orientations & Object Data
This last chapter sheds light on the particulars of transforming an object through space and object vs object data.
* Transform Orientations: Global & Local Space
* Object VS mesh Data
* Shared mesh Data
